The Solution
Party Pace was born from a love of bikepacking and being outside. The world of bikes and adventure riding can be intimidating to get into (it certainly was for me!) so I set out to create an inclusive, welcoming, fun publication that highlighted marginalised voices and reflected the best that bikepacking has to offer. The vibe is very ‘cruise along at Party Pace and enjoy the scenery,’  but there’s something in there for those who focus more on fastest route times and bike specs too.
As this publication was developed for a student project, it features articles sourced primarily from bikepacking and outdoor blogs and websites, as well as some copy I wrote myself. The photography is a combination of my own images and photos from friends, the sourced articles, and stock collections. Illustrations are my own.
Note: This is not a commercial project and I do not claim any rights to the articles or photos that came from other sources.
The Process
Started as most fun design projects do - with a lot of excitement and experimentation. Step one was to start playing with colours, typefaces, image treatments, layout concepts and illustrations to dial in Party Pace's visual identity.
The Result
All photos of the finished publication are my own, with thanks to Nicola Moltzer for modelling.
This was a student project undertaken as part of the RMIT Diploma of Graphic Design.
